This rise in new technology has made it cheap and easy to develop a new manufacturing process, which is in the best interests of a large company. As they release an output directly to online streaming, they can also reduce the cost of distribution, taking out the need for a physical item like a disc. They can just send a single computer file and still release and sell their product to their audiences. This changes the whole industry as more media is released through the internet. Old media such as DVD's are not used as much and are slowly declining.
I did the double page spread on advice for travelers. I choose this one because it was the first topic on the table of contents. I chose to put 5 tips because any more would be too much and I couldn't think about anything else that would be important to travelers. I wrote it in second person point of view because I am speaking directly to travelers. Most of the advice came from my own self because I have travelled many times in my life. I feel that I would give good advice on this topic. The whole article is about 400 words. The pictures came from Canva and I couldn't find who took them. If I ever do, I am going to add the names under the photo.
I think the double page spread looks good considering that I have never made one before. It's organized and attractive. I made the subtitles blue to stand out and to match the aesthetic of the page. The gray words in the beginning are to introduce the topic and to hook on the reader. I asked them questions that would possibly apply to their circumstances. My production skills have developed more throughout this project. This project has allowed me to learn to use new applications to create my magazine. I have also learned how to use color schemes in my magazine. I know what colors to use, what fonts to use, and what photos to use to in order to make my magazine more appealing to audiences. I have been researching other magazines and seeing their techniques and implicating that into my magazine. Now that my knowledge on editing and using these websites has expanded, I know how I can make my magazine successful.
I've decided to redesign the cover of my magazine as I was redesigning my table of contents to match my two-page layout aesthetic. I want my whole magazine to fit together, like the color scheme and the photo filters. I also added more titles to fill the page. I feel that my magazine looks more appealing and professional than my original. The original's color pattern was more vibrant and this one is more modern (brown tones). I feel relieved that I've fixed my cover and table of contents because I wasn't quite happy with them. I knew I could do better, and I did.
I have decided to recreate my table of contents. I changes the format, pictures, color theme, and added 2 more article titles. My reason for changing it was because I wanted the whole magazine to fit together. I came up to do this while creating the two-page layout. I realized that the color theme was completely different than the TOC and the cover, but I liked it more. I think I might also redo my magazine cover. I believe that the table of contents looks way better than before.
My product will be advertised and distributed in places where the targeted audience will most likely be. The airport will definitely be a location. Millions of tourists go to airports every day. My product will show them new places they may possibly travel to. It will also provide advice for those who are new at traveling. The magazine will also be advertised on world channels. This is because the magazine also talks about places around of the world. Viewers of these channels will be interested in learning more from my product.
My product engages with audiences because the cover tells people that the magazine is about traveling and the world. The cover will catch the attention of the audience. The words on cover pop out on the cover image. Pictures of places around the world with brief descriptions of articles that correlate with the photos are used on the cover and table of contents. It makes it obvious to the reader that my product is a world and travel magazine.
My product represents new travelers and age does not matter. Young or old, anyone can be new to traveling. This magazine gives advice for and information about different places. This information can help guide travelers. They can read about places that are interested in visiting. The audience of my product will consist of people who can afford to travel and/or people who are interested in reading about fascinating locations. The magazine will be bought by many tourists. Anyone, no matter what race, gender, or religion, will be able enjoy my magazine.
I do not think I challenged conventions very much in my product. I stuck with the basic travel magazine idea. The cover made it obvious that it was a travel magazine. The title says, “World Travel,” and the titles of the sub-headings contribute to this. The sub-headings on the cover show that traveling advice and information about famous locations will be discussed in my product. The table of contents is simple; it’s similar to many other magazines. Although, I did add photos about places that will be discussed. Some magazines do not include this.
